1st day: Turin
Group arrival at the airport of Caselle. Transfer to the city center, accommodation in 3 * hotel. Meeting with your guide and walking tour of this beautiful city. Depart from Piazza Castello, walk through the arcades where you will see historical cafés, the Subalpina Gallery (external visit and entrance not included), St. Mark’s Square, Via Rome with its shops, Palazzo Madama, the church of St. Dominic, the oldest religious building in Turin, Palatine Gate, the Cathedral, the Royal Palace (external visit entrance not included). Lunch in a typical restaurant.
In the afternoon, transfer by coach for a tour of the gardens inside the Valentine Park, along the Po river, with its “borgo”, an outstanding complex made up of a medieval town and a fortress (entrance not included), which was built for the Turin International Exhibition in 1884. In the late afternoon, visit of an old 17th century famous bistro, the “Bicerin Café” where you can enjoy its typical drink made with coffee, cream and chocolate. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay. Dinner will be served at the hotel or in a restaurant located in the surroundings.
2nd Day: Turin
After breakfast, departure by coach for a guided tour of the Basilica of Superga, on the hill in the east of Turin, designed and built by Filippo Juvarra in 1717-1731 and dedicated to the Nativity of Mary. Its interior is decorated with six chapels and four altars with statues and monuments in Carrara marble. Lunch break.
In the afternoon, transfer by bus to the “Reggia of Venaria Reale,” one of the main residences of Savoy in Piedmont, probably the largest in size. The Reggia of Venaria (entrance not included) has been designed and built in the 17th cen. by the architect Amedeo Castellamonte. The palace was commissioned by Duke Carlo Emanuele II, who needed a structure to be used as refuge during the hunting seasons in this mountainous region. Return to the hotel in the evening . Dinner and overnight stay (dinner will be served at the hotel or in a restaurant in the surroundings).
3nd Day: Val di Susa / Departure
Breakfast and departure by coach for a guided tour of the Sacred Saint Michele (entrance not included), an architectural complex located on Mount Pirchiriano at the entrance of the Val di Susa, symbol of Piedmont region. Lunch in a typical restaurant and then transfer bus to the airport. End of our services.
Possibility to add an extra day:
After breakfast, departure by bus to join a very famous chocolate factory whose products are known worldwide and appreciated by industry experts. Full guided visit explaining the production process with a small but delicious tasting. Then, visit of the “Mole Antonelliana” with its magnificent Museum of the Cinema (entrance not included) and the collection of artworks by Maria Adriana Prolo (historian and collector). Lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Civic Museum (entrance not included) located inside Palazzo Madama with more than sixty thousand works of art, then continuing towards the former industrial area of Fiat Carpano, transformed into a commercial area hosting the famous “Eataly” shops. Here you can purchase excellent products used in Italian cuisine or dine within the area (dining not included). Return to your hotel. Dinner will be served at the hotel or in a restaurant located nearby.
